I've had dreams like this...

Not mad for the song - but my God the video just does it for me.
Now to go spend some money on ASOS that I really don't have.
Merry Christmas.
My Indian left me, so I'm all alone, shall be decamping to Hotel Bebbington soon for some loving.

Wowsa

My God, Kanye West has a huge ego, but I friggin love him - ego is justified.
If I were ever to make a music video, or design a stage show, I would want it to be like this.

ITSA... Santy Bagel!

If you haven't had a bagel from an ITSA... cafe yet, you should definitely try them out (This has nothing to do with me being an employee I swear!). Yes, they are extremely fattening (Despite being 'virtually fat-free') but my gosh are they worth it!

The newest addition to the menu is the limited edition 'Santy Bagel'. (I love Christmas menus!) It consists of: Onion bagel, butter, mayonaise, ham, turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Normally when I think of Christmas sandwiches I imagine them being very dry, but not this one! The bagel is soft and warm and the stuffing served hot. It really is so juicy and tender and perfect for consumption!

I thoroughly recommend it if you are looking for a bite to eat in town. ITSA... Bagel can be found in Arnotts and Fitzwilliam Lane in town and also in Malahide, Dun Laoghaire and at the IMMA.

Stop being a Grinch - make a snow angel

Peeps, stop whining about the snow.
I absolutley adore it. The solution, don't drive or rely on public
transport - walk, bring spare socks everywhere, wear so many layers you feel nothing & of course APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR.
Ireland, as a nation, doesn't seem to grasp the need for rubber soled, amazing wellies. I have seen people in converse (squelch), pumps (brrrrr), suede boots (idiot), high heels, everything! Cop on dudes.
I have worn my wellies everyday for the last week, we are now one entity. Granted they are hunters & incredib
ly comfortable & not desperately ugly, but they paid for themselves a long time ago.
Good shoes = more snowball fights, snow angels, hot chocolates in the snow, igloo building, running around like a mad bastard & less slipping.
I love snow.

Insomnia Cafe's Christmas Menu

So, most coffee houses in Dublin at the moment have a special Christmas menu going on. I know Starbucks has atleast four new hot drinks available such as Gingerbread Lattes and the likes. Unfortunately the only place I've gotten around to visiting is Insomnia (Nasseau Street for all of those interested in stalking me!)

It was a cold, snowy day so myself and Ireland's answer to 'Abba' (Cormac, Connor, Lois and Lisa) decided to get some coffee to cheer us up and warm us up.

I ordered a Mint Mocha and a slice of Yule Log as you can see from the picture! The Yule Log was tasty. I wasn't sure what to expect as I'd never tasted any before and I honestly don't know what's in it either! But it was lovely, I'm not sure what it tasted off. Kind of mildly chocolately, vanilla-ish: Very creamy! The mint mocha was an experience. It was very bitter (Which was to be expected as coffee and mint are both bitter, duh!). It felt very Christmassy and Wintery to be sipping on it while it snowed outside. However I don't think I'll be ordering it again. It was 'fine'. Nice to try something new, but not worth re-trying!!

I think I'll have to make the (Expensive) trip to Starbucks next and try something from their Christmas menu. I'll make sure to keep you all informed!

Tea & Toast....

One of my favourite blogs (of them all, there are lots) is Fashion Toast. The pictures are lovely, she doesn't rant on about silly things that can just get a bit ranty & it makes me happy to look at such a pretty girl every now & then. Fashion toast is a lady called Rumi Neely, she is based in San Diego & seems to design lots of little bits for people here & there, example she did some pieces for Forever 21, newly opened in Dublin & I am still undecided as to whether I like it or not, though lovely underwear for under a fiver, yes please, also check out RCVA her pieces for there are lovely indeed & once I have money again will be ordered.
Oh today was consumed by Christmas cheer - turning on of the lights with caroling, hot cider & mince pies in the Shelbourne, it was very festive all together! I really do like Christmas a lot.
p.s. legs that just keep going - hells to the yeah.

BBCs Live Lounge

I've become addicted to listening to Live Lounge recordings. This is one of my favorites by The Saterdays.

Other ones worth looking up are:
Newton Faulkner singing Foundations ("Why don't you have another glass of wine?!")
The Noisettes singing When You Were Young
and White Lies singing Love Lockdown.

And then there are some absolutley AWFUL tunes too, which you just have to listen to just because they are awful and we all love a bit of horrendousness:
Pixie Lott singing Pokerface (Don't ever try cover Gaga again you barbie!)
McFly singing Dynamite (Ha, they couldn't decide whether to be pop, rock or R'n'B so they managed to a dismal mix of all three genres)
Alicia Keys singing How To Save A Life
and finally Florence and the Machine singing Halo. (I know Sizzy absolutely loves them, but this recording makes my ears feel like they're bleeding.)

Also, Cheryl Cole does a pretty ok job at singing Fireflies by Ocean City. I mean, it's not amazing, but I didn't know she could sing at all so I am pleasantly surprised!!

Is that a Ukulele?

Our boy attended battle of the bands the other evening, apparently ukuleles are cool again, I'm not sure why to be honest, but then I found this (thank you YouTube) & thought it was kinda cute, though she is 16, & it's a bit dowdy for a 16 year old (could she cheer up a bit please) it's still cute & that is exactly what a Ukulele is cute. Desperately hard to spell Ukulele by the way, nearly killed google trying to do it. But fair play to her, Christopher Bailey liked her a lot, & again she is only 16, when I was 16 I was a bit useless, still am to be honest, but there you go.

Absolutley Mad....

I have just started watching Mad Men & adore it, it's fierce slow moving but worth the effort.
I also love the way how Louis Vuitton have started this whole full skirt & heaving bossoms look, pop culture running amok.
I am dislike the rain when I don't wear my wellingtons.
These are the things on my mind.
And I quite like Andrew Bird & Born Ruffians, songs that reference Science make me happy.

If I had this in my wardobe...

I would promise to never wear my ugg boots to college again. I would promise to always get up in time to pick out a nice outfit instead of ending up leaving the house in jeans and something Abercrombie. I promise I would always style my hair and do my make up and look pretty all the time- Just so the coat would look good on me. It's so perfect, and yet so un-Kizzy ish in that, it would require effort to choose clothes to match it.

But it's beautiful- And it's a cape! Wearing this I would feel like an undercover super hero. But a really trandy, feminie super hero!

Well, now you know, if you're thinking of buying me anything for Christmas: This would be quite an appropriate gift for me!! (Sizzy has already shown me the fur coat and heels from BT2s that she wants for Christmas. I'm starting a charity collection for these gifts, if anyone would like to make a donation please contact me. Every little helps.)

Britannica

Today, I accidentally dressed like I was going to a horse show, I sort of loved it though. I think it was a result of my looking at to many pictures of Rosie Huntigton-Whiteley by Rankin. In all these different scenarios as it were, but they're just awesome. She's pretty cool, and has just suddenly appeared on my radar. I really want to look like the top one EVERY day!! God damn.

I'm aware that I neglected this blog so badly over the Summer..

Sorry! Luckily the amazing Sizzy was still here to keep you updated in all things important! I've been quite busy having a music filled Summer working at camp in New Hampshire. Quite an experience!

So, for my first update in like, three months I'd like to share with you a song I wrote today. It's called 'Metronome' and it's my attempt at writing in the style of Lady Gaga (Rawr) both lyrically and melodically. Although I've already been told that it's too similar to 'Paparazzi', but hey, I'm learning!

Big shout out to Mr. Kizzy for helping me improve the awful recording quality (143).

Whoops...

So sorry,
Autumn is my favorite time of year, moving, college and work, so much to be done.
I promise that Kizzy and I will fill you in on everything, Monday morning!!

Woman Crush

Oh Georgia May, I'm crushing on you bad. Brilliant marketing on Hudsons behalf as I want their jeans now, she is the only reason. What a babe? Who doesn't love her?

Outer Space.

Elcetric Picnic is fast approaching. If I can somehow look like Bruce Springsten, Kings of Leon and Drew Barrymore all at the same time, I will be a happy camper. I am terribly excited, a weekend with my boys and Nips. I doubt if we shall still be friends at the end of the weekend, but here's hoping. Will you be there?
(Is the African tribe theme a bit much? Or too little?)

What is Bambi doing?

Killarney National Park, it's pretty whopper dude, a place filled with deer, red squirrels, pine martens, mushrooms (the hobbits would love it) and chilli. So much chilli. It is a shame that chilli is the only thing that Conor and I can cook, as I think I may hate it now that we have eaten so much of it. However, pay a visit, stay in the Front Gate Lodge, kill some Rhododendron, run with the deer and have a jolly old time.

A beanbag in a clock tower attic.

I was in London. It was my first time there, ever, and by Job, I love that place. Oh my days, the atmosphere, the buildings, Foyles, Libertys, beers named 'auld speckled hen' and most importantly the Victoria Albert Museum. The V&A was by far my favourite place in London, and though I spent an entire afternoon there it wasn't enough. Usually I'm not one for museums and galleries, I have a few that are favourites, like I love the National Gallery in Dublin and the Museé d'Orsay in Paris, and now the V&A in London. I often find other museums too crowded, too expensive and I can't relax in them. I like the museums that are half empty most of the time and therefore really easy to get around.
I also went to Topshop, hated it, couldn't make sense of the store, though that didn't stop my buying a pair of lovely khaki turn ups, but there you go.
Sat for hours in Foyles, reading my new Biology dictionary.
Wandered in both the rain and sunshine.
Went on a boat trip to Greenwich on the Thames.
Drank lots of coffee.
Saw the fat, blonde guy from Gavin & Stacey, who's name I still can't remember, and said hello.
Found a cd that is just nowhere to be had in Ireland for £10, so that was a win. Go HMV Oxford St.
All in all, had a great time, ate loads, drank lots, spent loads of money and looked at lots of trains.
By the way, happy 21st to Avril, who is currently in London. I'd imagine also having a lovely time.

Wait, what?

That's my Hugh. Just thought I'd share his beauty with the world. Sometimes he looks really confused. Others just handsome.

Only Boring People Get Bored.

Yesterday I was bored, so, in order not to be a boring person, I had all my hair cut off. It is now very short, my neck is naked but I love it. Though it will never again look this chic, ever.
A song for our Kizzy in America playing piano. Talent oozing from her every pore.

Gin and Juice.

It's summertime and I have become bored with what is on my ipod, so I went trawling the internet and various other people's music collections and both came across and fell in love with Beirut, there song Postcards from Italy is just lovely, and the video kind of captures a summer feel reminiscent of your childhood, ah tis just great. Just so you know they are not from Lebanon, a rather long and rambling discussion was had about this before a googling of the matter occured, turns out they hail from America, New Mexico if Wikipedia is to be believed.
Also loving the new collections for Autumn, all full skirts, capes, waists and trousers. TROUSERS. God I love trousers, they are friggin awesome, so much more comfortable than jeans and in an amazing cuts and fabrics are just so beautiful. Can not wait for these to enter my wardrobe, above are some of my favourites dudes.

Mad as a Hatter Indeed.

Well, two weeks later, safe to say Ali's in Wonderland was a complete success. The birthday girl and her dress were amazing, and as usual completely unique, and I was soo impressed with the effort all her friends made, it was whopper dude, had a great time!! My own outfit was kind of awesome and I think I will probably wear it again, what can I say sequin hotpants, any excuse.

Mad as a Hatter you say?

My darling Ali shall be turning 21 in a matter of weeks, and in order to celebrate it is having an 'Ali's in Wonderland' theme.
I am the laziest person when it comes to dressing up, love the idea, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather sit on my arse to be honest. As it's Ali though I am going to make an honest effort, so I need some tips. I plan to dress up as The Mad Hatter, sure as Ger says I am a Mad Hatter, so it only makes sense. Any tips or advice would be gratefully received.
Sizzy.

Love, death, violence, sex, anger, anxiety, nightmares, dreams & drinking.

For well over a year now, like a lot of people I have been listening to Florence and the Machine on loop, queuing in snow and frost to get tickets to gigs (always failing) and basically just idolising Ms. Florence Welch. Though it is not my favourite song from the album Lungs, Cosmic Love is undoubtedly a brilliant piece of music, that just evokes such strong emotions from everyone, and sends shivers down your spine the first time you hear it (for the record, My Boy Builds Coffins is my favourite song, it reminds me of my Dad) and she has just released the video for it which is incredibly beautiful, all lights and red hair, relying on the power of the song more than any crazy visual affect that might only distract from it.
Ms. Welch is also a style icon, which at 22 and having really only been on the scene for a year, at most, is pretty impressive, she is the reason I own, and love, sequined knickers, as well as why I kinda want to dye my hair red, basically dude, she's just whopper, go buy the album, or check her on YouTube, it'll be the best thing you do today.
