A beanbag in a clock tower attic.

I was in London. It was my first time there, ever, and by Job, I love that place. Oh my days, the atmosphere, the buildings, Foyles, Libertys, beers named 'auld speckled hen' and most importantly the Victoria Albert Museum. The V&A was by far my favourite place in London, and though I spent an entire afternoon there it wasn't enough. Usually I'm not one for museums and galleries, I have a few that are favourites, like I love the National Gallery in Dublin and the Museé d'Orsay in Paris, and now the V&A in London. I often find other museums too crowded, too expensive and I can't relax in them. I like the museums that are half empty most of the time and therefore really easy to get around.
I also went to Topshop, hated it, couldn't make sense of the store, though that didn't stop my buying a pair of lovely khaki turn ups, but there you go.
Sat for hours in Foyles, reading my new Biology dictionary.
Wandered in both the rain and sunshine.
Went on a boat trip to Greenwich on the Thames.
Drank lots of coffee.
Saw the fat, blonde guy from Gavin & Stacey, who's name I still can't remember, and said hello.
Found a cd that is just nowhere to be had in Ireland for £10, so that was a win. Go HMV Oxford St.
All in all, had a great time, ate loads, drank lots, spent loads of money and looked at lots of trains.
By the way, happy 21st to Avril, who is currently in London. I'd imagine also having a lovely time.

  1. Glad you had a good time, although can't believe you didn't like the Topshop store! You liked the Urban Outfitters one, right?

  2. I never got there, I was with my Dad and was beginning to feel pretty bad about dragging him around lots of shops. Ah Topshop, it just upset me, it was such a mess. I was very disappointed as lots of people had said it was great, I had an image of some sort of euphoric paradise formed in my mind.
